Where to stay
There are many beautiful places to stay in the areas around the venue. We've given some suggestions for areas to consider below.
Trentinara - 12 minute drive to venue
A small village further up the hill from Giungano, there are beautiful views, and many B&B's to choose from!
Castellabate - 35 minute drive to venue
A nearby town by the sea, with plenty of restaurants. It is one of 'I Borghi più belli d'Italia', a non-profit private association of small Italian towns of strong historical and artistic interest.
Agropoli - 20 minute drive to venue
A town with plenty of shops, harbour and historical monument/commune with beatuiful views of the Amalfi Coast.
Capaccio - 20 minute drive to venue
A smaller village further up one of the surrounding hills, with beautiful views of the surrounding valley.
Travel
The closest airport is Naples, about 2 hours and 50 minutes flight from London. The venue is 1 hour and 30 minutes drive from Naples Airport, and depending on where you choose to stay there are different options for travel.
Car Rental - If you are renting a car at the airport, we recommend a slightly smaller car as the Jeep we hired when we visited, struggled on the smaller roads! Note: you do NOT need an international driving permit, but remember to bring your UK license! Those travelling from outside the EU, check the Italian government website to check what you need to bring.
Trains - You can get a shuttle bus from the Airport in Naples, to the train station (Napoli Centrale) and then get a train to Agropoli-Castellabate train station (1 hour on the train). Once there, you may have to use cabs.
Private Hire Taxis from the airport.
And of course you can just figure out what you would like to do yourselves!
Things to do
If you decide to make a trip out of it, and want some ideas of things to do on the days surrounding the wedding, here's some suggestions:
- Cilento National Park is a UNESCO heritage site, so there are plenty of walks
- Archaeological Park of Paestum (temple ruins, amphitheater & museum)
- Cilento hilltop communes - scattered around the entire region, these small villages on the tops of the surrounding hills are ripe for exploring! Narrow side streets to get lost in, small Italian cafe's etc. The castle in Agropoli boasts fantastic views of the Mediterranean!
- Trentinara Zip line
